  i just came across a pair of jw's on ebay who are flogging off nearly 2000 "religious" items.. is it just me, or are jw's hypocrites when they make cash by selling old light publications which now contain "wrong teachings," or much worse, by selling books etc.

  which were created by members of apostate christendom and contain teachings which contradict their self-appointed "faithful slave?

  is there a bible example/principle here?.

  True Blondie. I have to admit I still have my mom's "Then is finished, the Mystery of God" book. It was the book that started her in her studies and I from time to time I pick it up and read her footnotes and chuckle at the "old light" being presented.

  Last year I sold a bunch of my old JW crap. Most on Ebay. I do not consider myself a JW, at least not anymore. I just wanted to get something back from all those years I wasted time and money on them.

  She also says in her video that she was "using a speaker to talk to them". Yes, that can be disruptive. And if she did call the police and they said she could be on the sidewalk, where are they? I know from past interactions, witnesses are afraid of the police in general. If the police were out there telling them that they were not allowed to block her, they would tuck tail and run back into the venue calling HQ for instructions. And goons? Hyperbole much? Cowards, yes, but let's not get carried away here. They are just standing blocking this poor little woman from disrupting their snore fest.

  I agree with the public sidewalk. But we have seen videos (some even posted on here) of ones like her trying to disrupt their meetings. So again, I can see the reason. Also, having worked in parking and accounting in the past for those events, they will many times rent out parking lots and other areas for their parking, Many protestors (including the police) don't realize this and they actually have the right to remove someone being disruptive (even if it is perceived as a public sidewalk). Now, I would caution that local laws can fluctuate depending on the area. And again, we hear her side, but I am thinking they actually rented that area for parking but I don't want to be dogmatic. And do you really want small children used as human shields? Because that is the mindset of those burly men. I personally am not intimidated by them. I am more intimidated by small, loud mouth women.

  I actually don't find anything out of the ordinary here. They have been doing this for years. They will not allow protestors on the property and will use brothers, big brothers, to block them from view of the sheeple. I personally don't see this as censorship either. They paid for the venue. If you want to have your side aired, rent it out and have your way. And intimidating? They just stood there. They didn't push her, didn't get in her face. So I am skeptical on that charge also.

  Watchtower hires off-duty law enforcement

  an indignant law enforcement officer wrote kim & mikey to let them know watchtower had placed an advertisement on a facebook page dedicated to law enforcement staff only, looking to hire a fully uniformed and armed officer at $35 per hour.

  the commission was for the memorial in a specified texan venue.. the officer was particularly miffed at the hypocrisy considering the terrible way law enforcement was portrayed in the 2018 convention video, where the jws had been herded into a field to be slaughtered by a large group of officers.

  not to mention the fact they are only too willing to call police for their own protection, yet won’t do so when it comes to protecting children from potential or actual abuse.. https://youtu.be/-rpcsztnvyo.

  I know in the early 2000 I was helping with parking at a Convention. The city that we was in required the WT to either pay the police (which was like $4000) or hire 'certified' individuals to help with the expected traffic. We were not allowed to just have brothers directing public traffic. If I remember right, we spent about $500/day for 2 officer for hire to help 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening. I also believe they put an ad in the local papers for it. What I do find interesting is them using Facebook.

  I know in my old hall if you had a child and you counted him as a study, you were required to have 14 hours a month (10 in service + 4 with the study). You also had to show up at the service centers or it didn't count! So, if you were appointed, you needed to be seen going out from your group. No letter writing, telephone witnessing unless it was from a group. Pretty messed up.
